ఆర్థిక వృద్ధి 9 శాతానికి చేరుకుంటుంది: ప్రణబ్ ముఖర్జీ

ప్రస్తుత ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరం( 2010-11)లో దేశీయ ఆర్థిక వృద్ధి 9 శాతానికి చేరుకుంటుందని కేంద్ర ఆర్థిక శాఖామంత్రి ప్రణబ్ ముఖర్జీ న్యూ ఢిల్లీలో శనివారం వెల్లడించారు. ప్రస్తుత వార్షిక సాధారణ బడ్జెట్‌లో తాము తెలిపిన విధంగా గత ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరం(2009-10)లో ఆర్థిక వృద్ధి 7.2 శాతానికి చేరుకుంటుదని చెప్పామని, అలాగే జరిగిందన్నారు.

ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా నెలకొన్న ఆర్థిక మాంద్యం కారణంగా దేశంలోని ఆర్థిక స్థితిపై ప్రభావం చూపించిందని ఆయన అన్నారు. ప్రస్తుతం మాంద్యం తగ్గుముఖం పడుతోందని ఎస్ఐడీబీఐ శుక్రవారం నిర్వహించిన కార్యక్రమంలో పాల్గొన్న ఆయన తెలిపిన విషయాన్ని ఈ సందర్భంగా మరోసారి గుర్తు చేశారు.

ఆర్థిక మాంద్యం కారణంగా తమ ప్రభుత్వం తీసుకున్న అనేక విధానాల వలన దేశీయ ఆర్థికవ్యవస్థ పటిష్టంగానే ఉందన్నారు. దీంతో మాంద్యం నుంచి మన దేశం బయట పడిందని ఆయన తెలిపారు. దేశీయ ఆర్థిక వృద్ధి 7.5 శాతానికన్నా తక్కువగానే ఉంటాయని కేంద్ర గణాంకాల కార్యాలయం, భారతీయ రిజర్వు బ్యాంకులు జనవరి నెలలో ప్రకటించాయి.

తమ ప్రభుత్వం తీసుకున్న నిర్ణయాల కారణంగా ప్రైవేట్ పెట్టుబడులను ఆహ్వానిస్తున్నట్లు ఆయన తెలిపారు. దీంతో ఆర్థిక వృద్ధి గాడిన పడే అవకాశాలు ఎక్కువగా ఉన్నాయని ఆయన అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు.

NEW DELHI: Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said the economy would soon return to the 9% growth trajectory, helped by various measures announced
in the Union Budget 2010-11. He said the economy would post 8.25-8.75% growth in the current fiscal after recording 7.2% growth in 2009-10, which is impressive by global standards.

“The good news is that the world economy today seems to be recovering from the severe crisis,” Mr Mukherjee said at a SIDBI function here on Friday.

“The fast-paced recovery of the Indian economy underscores the effectiveness of the policy response of the government in the wake of this financial crisis,” he said.

Last year was a difficult one as the world was still in the throes of the financial crisis, Mr Mukherjee said.

The finance minister’s growth forecast for 2009-10 is in line with the projection made by the Central Statistical Office, although it is lower than the 7.5% forecast by RBI’s policy review in January.

“I am optimistic that the measures I have outlined in this year’s budget will revive private investment and put the economy back on the growth path,” Mr Mukherjee said.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had said at a function organised by the central bank that the economy would get back to 9% growth by the end of the Eleventh Five Year Plan period, and do even better after that.

After clocking 9% plus growth for three continuous years till 2007-08, the country’s GDP grew by a relatively modest rate of 6.7% in 2008-09 on account of the international financial crisis.
